Cambridge boss Richard Money claims his side will be down to barebones for Saturday's game with the Bulls.
The former Luton chief, who was interviewed for the Edgar Street job in the summer, claims he could have just a dozen fully fit outfield players available for the game, and has no funds to reinforce his side.
He told the Cambridge News: "I’ve got 14 players, sometimes only 12 outfield players, for
training at the moment and I have to take care of what we do in training
in case any of them get injured.
"It’s a huge balancing act at the moment where we do work with them, but also we need to have enough fit bodies for the weekend.
Money is considering recalling defender Jonathan Thorpe from his loan at Tamworth, having been forced to hand youth teamer Bobby-Joe Taylor a debut in Saturday's loss to Mansfield, but finances may dictate what he can do with cash continuing to be tight at the Abbey Stadium.
Saturday's loss was their third straight, conceding three goals in each game, with their last home match being a 3-0 reverse to Alfreton.
