Bury have acknowledged they are under a transfer embargo after seeking a loan from the PFA to help pay the players' wages. The League One side say the loan is until mid-January. Stockport chairman Lord Peter Snape has told the press he is "getting pretty fed up of watching part-time teams beat Stockport County". He added: “Changes are going to be made unless things improve. Jim Gannon’s pretty good at telling me how this club should be run. Well I’m going to tell him that I’m not impressed by the way the team is being run."

Coventry are reported to have rejected an offer from the owners of the Ricoh Arena to cut their rent by 66% prior to last week's demand for payment. The offer would have seen their rent cut to £400,000 a season and give them ten years to repay the £1.1million they currently owe. Southport defender Steve Akrigg will spend time on the sidelines after dislocating his shoulder for a second time. He will now seek specialist advice on the problem.
