Sammons Departs Edgar Street

Ashley Sammons has left the Bulls, with Martin Foyle opting to end his non-contract stay at the club.

The former Birmingham man scored once in five starts and four sub appearances since his arrival on trial near to the end of pre-season. Foyle told the official site that Will Evans and James McQuilkin had both forced their way back into the reckoning, and that the finances dictated that someone had to leave to bring another player in.

Meanwhile, the club have confirmed Chris Todd's arrival on loan. Forest Green manager Dave Hockaday told their official site:

“We’ve got plenty of cover – most clubs don’t have five centre halves. Plus, Collins, Asafu-Adjaye and Stokes can all play centre half. Toddy needs to play games, it is no good him sitting on the bench, he needs matches.”

Michael Townsend told fans on Saturday he expects to be out for at least another two to three weeks.
