The 4997 shares (12.5%) in Hereford United that were owned by former vice-chairman Tim Russon changed hands last month. But the identity of the buyer was not made public at the time.
BN and others were asked to not to reveal his name.
However there seems little point keeping the 'secret' any longer as the name is in the public domain.
Mike Roberts is understood to be the purchaser.
Roberts has been involved with Hereford United for many years. He is currently a senior vice-president.
This from February 2011:
Hereford chairman David Keyte has explained the decision to hand former
chairman Peter Hill and vice-chairman Mike Roberts senior vice-president
roles at the League Two club. Keyte has revealed both Hill and Roberts
expressed their pleasure at the club`s progression in a meeting towards
the back end of last year and wished to support the cause. As a
consequence they did so by each agreeing to write off their £10,000
loans to the club - as the only remaining long-term creditors - and in
return sought some recognition for their years of service at Edgar
Street. As a result, a new category of senior vice-presidents was
created.
"Senior vice-presidents will have no
involvement with the day-to-day running of the club," said Keyte.
"This role has been
created for anyone who wants to show his or her support through
financial investment."
