The Bulls make the lengthy journey to Kent tomorrow for the rearranged League game with Gillingham.
The original game was called off at the start of the month with heavy snow and hard frosts forcing the game to be postponed the day before. The preview from that match can be seen here.
The Gills' mini-crisis at the start of February turned into full-scale panic as they went on a run of five straight losses to plunge out of the play-off picture. They've recovered since, claiming two clean sheets with a draw and win in their last two games. That recovery has coincided with the return to fitness of defender Simon King. The 28 year old for most of the previous five months, but he scored the opener in their win over Torquay at the weekend before a disputed penalty sealed the points late on. Top scorer Danny Kedwell has 12 goals, but only five of those have not come from the penalty spot, while both Jo Kuffour and Gavin Tomlin have been amongst the goals since their recent moves to Priestfield.
The Bulls will be looking to right the wrongs of the 6-1 mauling in October that saw a number of Bulls fans calling for Jamie Pitman's head. It was the catalyst for the arrival of Gary Peters, and a brief upturn in fortunes, but the Bulls find themselves just a point clear of the drop zone after a succession of disappointing scorelines. A defeat on Tuesday night will only heap more pressure on the board to make changes, though they are stuck between a rock and a hard place. Peters' player recruitment has been generally good and he has juggled the very limited budget to good effect, but fans are adverse to the long ball game that is his bread and butter.
Gillingham vs Hereford United, Priestfield, Tuesday 28th February, 7.45pm.
