News Round-Up

Crawley are believed to be the League Two side that has lodged a £15,000 offer for Weymouth defender Sam Poole. The Terras have rejected the bid for the 19 year old, a product of their youth system. Bristol Rovers are the lowest graded club picked for live FA Cup Third Round coverage. Their game with Aston Villa will earn them £123,500 in TV money.

In the Conference last night Kettering fielded four youth teamers in their 13 man squad that held Darlington to a goalless draw, with Quakers caretaker boss Craig Liddle saying the Poppies 'celebrated like they'd won the cup' afterwards. Luton, with Janos Kovacs playing the full match, drew 1-1 at Lincoln after having two men sent off, while Kidderminster beat Bath 4-1 with Steve Guinan scoring the opener. Stockport are third bottom after a 1-0 home loss to Gateshead in front of 2,366 - half the attendance that saw their previous home game.

Tyler Weir played the full match for Gloucester last night as they lost 2-1 at home to Nuneaton. The Tigers had a man sent off for the second match running. Plymouth have confirmed that they will strengthen in the January transfer window. New owner James Brent has confirmed that funds will be made available to boss Carl Fletcher to bring new faces into Home Park.

Dagenham have agreed to sell winger Damian Scannell to Conf South side Eastleigh for an undisclosed sum. The 22 year old has played in 14 of their 19 League matches this season but manager John Still needs to cut his squad. Torquay have handed long serving duo Lee Mansell and Kevin Nicholson new deals to run until the summer of 2014. The pair have each played over 200 times for the Gulls.

Port Vale fans are to stage a protest at their match at Dagenham this weekend after it was revealed that under fire directors Peter Miller and Perry Deakin voted themselves onto the club's board using shares they hadn't paid for. £350,000 worth of shares were issued to the pair, and investors Blue Sky, and used in the vote but weren't paid for at the time. The pair claim to have since paid for the shares but have, so far, failed to provide any proof.
