News Round-Up

Northampton are reported to have approached Dover boss Nicky Forster to take over at Sixfields. Forster's respresentatives have told the press the former striker has rejected the move after only seven games at the helm. The BBC are reporting that a number of Football League clubs want the reintroduction of plastic pitches. Accrington are one side calling for the change, saying the £500,000 cost of installation would allow them to hold events on the surface seven days a week.

Port Vale's Supporters Club has told the club's board it will press ahead with an open meeting to discuss the failing Blue Sky investment deal despite the board refusing to send a representative. Other supporters groups have also warned they will resume hostilities against the board, suspended when the deal was announced, if they do not receive answers on the deal. Wrexham say the end of their takeover saga is 'in sight' with the FA asking for final copies of the sale agreement after a draft copy was sent last week.

Shrewsbury have signed West Brom defender James Hurst on loan until January. The 19 year old started three games for the Baggies last season, including one Premier League game, and had a short spell on loan at Blackpool earlier this term. Dagenham are reported to have had a bid accepted by Kettering for striker Adam Cunnington. The 24 year old has scored six times this season. The Daggers have signed Brentford midfielder Michael Spillane on loan, with the 22 year old playing only once for the Bees this season.

At a fans forum last night, Cheltenham chairman Paul Baker told fans that any hopes of a new stadium would hinge on finding funds to cover a projected shortfall between the cost of building a new 8-10,000 seat ground and what they would receive from selling Whaddon Road. Baker also told fans they had to be careful with contracts with the Sky TV revenue dropping by 26% next season.

Former Bulls striker Andy Moran has dropped down the Welsh pyramid to join Buckley Town from WPL side Airbus UK. In his Welsh Premier career the 32 year old has scored 124 times in 224 games.
