News Round-Up

Bradford trialled five players in their reserve loss to Middlesboro yesterday. The quintet included MK Dons striker Lewis Guy and Brazilian forward Alex Titton. 21 year old Titton has been plying his trade in the Brazilian fourth tier after previously trialling with Spurs. Darlington have loaned striker James Walshaw to Halifax until the end of the season. He is the fourth departure in two weeks since chairman Raj Singh demanded cuts to the wage bill.

Northampton are reported to be set to sign Cardiff youngster Ibrahim Farah on loan. The teenage midfielder made his debut in the Carling Cup earlier in the season. Tyler Weir played the full game as Gloucester won 4-1 at Gainsborough last night, with the Tigers scoring four times in 13 second half minutes.

Plymouth have signed Blackpool striker Craig Sutherland on loan until the end of January. The 22 year old joined the Tangerines in the summer, making eight appearances without scoring, after four years in the US college football system. Aldershot are to sign Crawley defender Jamie Day on loan until early January. The 25 year old previously spent seven years at Peterboro, making over 100 appearances.

Oxford have resigned West Ham youngster Robert Hall on a months loan. He was recalled from an earlier spell at the Kassam Stadium due to injuries. Accrington have successfully appealed against the red card handed to midfielder Andy Proctor during their FA Cup loss at the weekend.

Bristol Rovers have recalled winger Ben Swallow from his loan spell at Bath City. The 22 year old is needed by the Pirates due to an injury crisis, and has not played League football since the last day of last season. New Crewe boss Steve Davis says he will pick his son Harry on merit, saying he will be fair to both player and club. The younger Davis has played in all but two of their matches so far this season.

New Stockport chief Jim Gannon says the club is in a much worse state than when he left in 2009. He says the club is 'at the brink of a third successive relegation' with the Hatters just two points clear of the relegation zone in the Conference. Macclesfield boss Gary Simpson has denied any interest in the Northampton job after press speculation suggested he was a target. Northampton chairman Dennis Cardoza says they have already had several applications.

Scunthorpe have reported a profit for last season of £1.4million, thanks largely to the £2million they received from the sale of ex-Bull Gary Hooper, but warned shareholders that the club had an operating loss of nearly £250,000. Shrewsbury striker James Collins will not face charges after being arrested along with Aston Villa's Barry Bannan after a motorway crash last month. Bannan will face four charges of driving offences including drink driving.
