Preview: Shrewsbury vs Bulls

The Bulls travel up the A49 to face Shrewsbury in a League Two match on Saturday.

The Bulls will be looking to overturn a rather poor recent record against the Shrews, who have scored nine of the last ten goals in the fixture. Leon Constantine's opener in February 2010's meeting had three goals scored against it in that game, and last season saw the Bulls lose 2-0 and 4-0 with their last trip to Shropshire ending up in a red card for Ryan Green.

The Shrews are fifth in the table, but are hardly tearing up trees so far this season. Their opening day draw with Plymouth remains the only point the Pilgrims have earned, while they needed a penalty deep into injury time to edge out Gillingham last time and they have scored only once in the first half of League games this season. Former Bulls loanee Steven Leslie has made only one appearance - in the JPT - this season after agreeing a new deal in the summer.

The Bulls go north in search of a first away win on the back of a three match unbeaten League run. Jack Midson's goal for AFC Wimbledon was 245 minutes ago with the Bulls holding firm with loanee keeper David Cornell between the sticks. The squad have had their first midweek off since the start of the season, and the short break should enable one or two casualties to regain fitness. Boss Jamie Pitman will hope to have Joe Colbeck and Stefan Stam to call on again but it is likely to be too soon for Rob Purdie.

Shrewsbury Town vs Hereford United, Greenhous Meadow, Saturday 10th September, 1.00pm.
