West Mercia Police have issued the following press statement about Saturday's League Two match between Shrewsbury Town and Hereford United.
A large policing operation will be in force for Shrewsbury's local derby League Two fixture with Hereford United on Saturday.
The match kicks off early at 1pm and police are reminding Hereford fans that no tickets are being sold on the day to away supporters.
Chief Inspector David McWilliam said today: "Please don't travel unless you have a ticket as Hereford fans will not be able to buy a ticket on Saturday. Only Shrewsbury supporters will be able to purchase tickets on the day.
"I would also urge supporters to travel in good time as there is likely to be a large crowd and there is no general parking at the stadium. Check the Shrewsbury Town website for parking details and leave yourself plenty of time to get to the ground."
He said the police had requested Shrewsbury bring the kick-off time forward for operational reasons. "It's a busy afternoon for the police with more than 100 officers on duty for the Shrewsbury game and also Telford's match with Stockport County. The staggered kick-off times help with the policing arrangements."
He said officers would be on duty in Shrewsbury before and after the match as well as on the approaches to the Greenhous Stadium.
"Our primary focus is to ensure people can get to and from the ground in safety and without disruption. "Anyone causing disorder or involved in criminal behaviour will be arrested and put before the courts with a view to football banning orders being imposed".
Chief Inspector McWilliam added: "Any form of disorder will not be tolerated and the police response will be robust. This is a local derby game which fans from both sides should be able to enjoy in safety without being upset by criminal behaviour."
