Former Hereford United mid-fielder Ben Smith has been farmed out for a month to Kettering by parent club Crawley. Also moving is defender John Dempster.
"Both Ben and John need to get some first-team competitive action and they will get plenty of that over the next month at Kettering Town," said Crawley manager Steve Evans.
"Kettering are getting themselves two excellent players for a period of time and we get those lads the game time needed, so we all win with this agreement."
Smith had two spells with the Bulls. In 2002 he was signed by Graham Turner after leaving Southend. Two years later he moved to Shrewsbury.
In January 2006 he moved to Weymouth and a year later he returned to Edgar Street after Turner had paid £20,000 for his services. In the summer of 2009 he left Edgar Street for Crawley Town.
