Hereford United chairman David Keyte has told BBC Hereford and Worcester that he is looking for a mid-table finish for the Bulls this season.
"I am more optimistic," Keyte told Sports Editor Trevor Owens at last week's press day.
"We have got a better side together so therefore I would be looking at - I've had some criticism in some quarters for being un-ambitious by saying I'd like to be mid-table but actually that's progress in year two compared to year one.
"Who knows, it's sport and if we get on a run like we did in January/February from a better start, it could be play-offs.
"Head ruling heart says well let's keep plodding forward.
"It's not a one year plan or a two year plan, this is five to ten years.
"A lot of things off the field will give us an even stronger base in the next four or five years.
"Realistically we've just got to keep plodding."
