Hereford Mayor, Anna Toon, is to give a special Mayor's Commendation to both Ronnie Radford and Ricky George for their goals in Hereford's FA Cup defeat of Newcastle United in 1972. The presentation will take place at half-time during Tuesday evening's League Two match against Wycombe Wanderers.
"After 39 years, it's time that the civic pride and international acclaim that they brought to Hereford is recognised and we at last give public acclaim to our local heroes," said the Mayor.
"All Hereford thank them both."
Meanwhile with the Grand National next Saturday, it will be 13 years since Earth Summit won the race.
Ricky George was part-owner of the horse.
