Stoke Council has told Port Vale Football Club that it must start repaying its £2.25M loan.
The loan was originally advanced to the club in 2006 to help it pay outstanding debts but in 2009 the council gave the club a 'repayment holiday'.
Now, according to BBC Sport, it wants the club to resume paying the loan back in monthly payments which will include both interest and a repayment.
