Injury Problems at Southend

Paul Sturrock has told the Southend Echo that his side needs a win over the Bulls tomorrow evening after several defeats. However he conceeds it won't be easy with so many players out with injury.

"Losing at Crewe was exasperating and very frustrating, especially after it come to the defeats we had at Morecambe and Lincoln," said the Southend manager.

"Craig Easton is likely to be out for three weeks with the calf problem he suffered against Lincoln last weekend, while Peter Gilbert (groin) and Miguel Comminges (knee) will be out of action for a similar amount of time.

"Bilel Mohsni is back running but is still another two weeks away from being fit and Mark Phillips is again out with a groin problem.

"On top of that, Blair [Sturrock] and Barry Corr are playing with all kinds of knocks and it’s hitting us hard.

"Hereford will also be full of confidence as they’ve won their last seven away games in the league but we want and need the three points and, with it being on a Friday night, I hope the fans come out in big numbers to cheer us on.

"I certainly won’t be having anyone saying our season is already over, but we do need a win tomorrow night to get ourselves going again."
