The Bulls entertain Morecambe at Edgar Street on Tuesday night for a rearranged League Two match.
The two sides were due to meet in the first week of December but the game became the first of many to fall foul of the freezing weather. Since the Shrimps followed the Bulls into the League the away side has won three of the four fixtures between the two teams. During the 07/08 season the Bulls won 3-0 at Christie Park before the Shrimps returned the favour at Edgar Street, while last season saw a Jim Bentley goal prise the points away in front of the lowest gate of the season. With that statistic in mind it's probably a good thing that the board have unleashed another Kids for a Quid promotion.
The Bulls go into the match entering something of another new era. Gone are The Beast and Lennie Lawrence, two influential figures in the recent upturn in fortunes. Jake Jervis returns after spending a month at Edgar Street last Spring. His participation saw five wins from seven games - a record that would be a good result from a hectic month. Further additions are promised with vague rumours that Kidderminster's Chris McPhee was watched on Saturday.
The Shrimps sold winger Mark Duffy last week and boss Sammy McIlroy has promised a replacement, possibly before Tuesday's game. While he had no goals this season he is their top provider of assists and was toppled in the box twice by Torquay defenders and once by the Shrewsbury back line for penalties in their recent wins. Without him they went down 2-0 at Stevenage at the weekend. Top scorer Phil Jevons, with five goals, managed 35 minutes of that game after not playing for six weeks while hot prospect teenage forward James Spencer will be suspended after being sent off at Shrewsbury.
