News Round Up

Leyton Orient say they have appealed to the Premier League and Football League to stop a football club playing in the Olympic Stadium. A club statement claims moving a PL side into the ground will kill them but that the authorities are ignoring their own rules on ground relocation. A decision on whether West Ham or Spurs can use the ground is expected to be made next week. The O's have released striker Adrian Patulea by mutual consent. He scored 11 times in 31 games for Lincoln but barely started a game in 18 months at Brisbane Road.

Cheltenham trialist Duane Courtney has been released by current club York City by mutual consent. The full back played for Robins boss Mark Yates at Kidderminster. Zamaretto League side Clevedon Town are the latest side to slash their wage bill with five players quitting the side as a result. The club blames a string of postponements.

Stockport's Edgeley Park is the subject of redevelopment talks. Ground owner Brian Kennedy and the local council have agreed on a plan to develop the ground as a community stadium - but the council will only go-ahead with plans if the club itself agrees. Fans are angered by revelations that the club earns no money from the catering and bars at the ground, with the money going to Kennedy's Cheshire Sports, and are mulling a boycott of the facilities.

The Premier League is planning on scrapping their reserve league to allow sides to concentrate on youth sides. A report in the Telegraph says the changes will see Centre of Excellences scrapped in favour of more expensive Academies.
