"I’m very pleased with the result and I’m very pleased with the clean sheet," Pitman told the FA.

"The lads have been working very hard over the course of the last few weeks to defend better and they’ve done that tonight.

"We changed the system to a 4-4-2 and tried to make it difficult for them as we knew they were going to be a very good unit, pass it very well and try to get at us. But we made sure we kept a solid eight.

"It was a very tough game tonight. We started very well and could have had a few goals early on, but they’ve created a few chances, we’ve rode our luck for a bit but overall it was a very good performance.

"The set-piece has gone in around the back, it was headed back across and we’ve reacted well to it. We had a little bet as he hasn’t scored many from set-pieces to I owe him a bit of money now," joked Pitman.

"Financially for the club this is massive, and for the players not just The FA Cup, but winning is a habit. Whether that’s in The FA Cup or in the League we need to keep doing that.

"It’s great to be involved in The FA Cup, we have a great tie up at Hillsborough and hopefully we can go there with some confidence and make it difficult for them."
