News Round Up

Cheltenham striker Wes Thomas says his personal circumstances will dictate whether he remains at the club. His family is London based and the 13 goal striker will consider his options with no fee attached to a summer move. Barnet forward Ricky Holmes has been ruled out for the season after breaking a bone in his foot during the warm up before Saturday's draw with Shrewsbury.

Accrington loan defender Kevin Long is waiting for the swelling to go down before finding out the extent of ankle damage that saw him withdrawn late on in their win over Cheltenham. Former Bulls defender Tony Capaldi is back in talks with Morecambe over a new deal after playing in their last three games. A move to Aberdeen is on hold due to the Pittodrie club's financial constraints.

Northampton believe they will complete the signing of Crewe's Calvin Zola this week, but that they are unlikely to sign Burton's Shaun Harrad due to the player wanting to move up the divisions. Mansfield say Field Mill owner Keith Haslam has moved the goalposts on their agreed deal to extend the lease on the ground. Club owner John Radford says Haslam has tried to charge the club further costs and tried to insert a clause banning him from taking legal action against Haslam.

Southend will not be appointing a new assistant to manager Paul Sturrock for the foreseeable future, with the Scot preferring to spend the money on a new player. Dagenham have signed Bristol City striker John Akinde on loan for the remainder of the season. The former Ebbsfleet man turned down a permanent move to Northampton last week, while Gillingham also made an enquiry.

Former Bulls defender Dean Smith says he is still undecided about applying for the managerial job at Walsall. The caretaker boss has earned two points in his three games so far, but has told the press he intends to remain at the club indefinitely. Former Bulls striker Tim Sills has had his Stevenage contract cancelled by mutual consent. The former Aldershot man ended his time on loan at Rushden, scoring once in nine games.
