News Round Up

Stockport's board have backed manager Paul Simpson, but have warned him that results are expected to improve. Simpson has been told there is no money to improve the squad in January and that he will have to offload players first to make changes. Southend have announced that assistant boss Tommy Widdrington has left the club with immediate effect. Boss Paul Sturrock reported that Widdrington had missed last night's game for 'personal reasons'.

Port Vale fan Phil 'The Power' Taylor has told the press he would consider investing in the club if they change their mind on Mo Chaudry's offer to take over the club. Lincoln defender Kern Miller will be out for several months after having his jaw broken while on a night out in Blackpool. The 19 year old Academy graduate is claimed to have been set on while waiting for a taxi and Police are investigating.

Bristol Rovers have sacked manager Paul Trollope with the club in the bottom four of League One. In recent weeks they have not won in seven League games, gone out of the FA Cup to non-league Darlington, and lost last night's JPT match with Exeter. Wycombe's on loan midfielder Josh Parker has returned to parent club QPR after suffering a fractured foot. He managed only one sub appearance due to going off on international duty, and was due to stay until January.

Lincoln have released striker Nathan Adams by mutual consent. The 19 year old Academy graduate had made only one sub appearance for the Imps this term and his six month deal was due to expire in a couple of weeks. Ex-Bull Marlon Jackson scored from a Gavin Williams cross as Bristol City's reserve beat Cheltenham's second string 5-2 this afternoon. Tranmere have reported a pre-tax loss of £22,540 for last season after posting a near £1million loss the season before.
