Former Bulls loanee Steven Jennings is at the centre of a betting probe after getting sent off in a SPL game last night.
A statement from the SFA says the Motherwell-Hearts match is being investigated after an unusual betting pattern was spotted with several Liverpool-based clients betting large amounts on the red card market with several bookmakers, with one new account holder claimed to have staked £500 at 10/1 that a player would be sent off in the game.
Scouser Jennings, a former Tranmere trainee who joined the Bulls on loan in early 2007, was sent off late in the game for a foul-mouthed tirade at the referee after a penalty claim was waved away by ref Stevie O'Reilly.
Update: Spokesman Alan Alger of BlueSq told the BBC: "At Blue Square, we actually offer specific team red cards. In any particularly live game, you can back a team to get a red card.
"In this instance, the market that had the suspicious activity was the Motherwell red card market, but we understand from other bookmakers that their particular concern was over any red card in the game. What we mean by suspicious is new accounts opening up and trying to back that specific outcome."
