Below is a short report from yesterday's HUISA (Hereford United Independent Supporters Association) Annual General Meeting which took place in the Richmond Club.
Chairman Keith Dodd took the meeting. 14 members were present.
In her report treasurer Nicky White revealed that HUISA had agreed to give the club £6,000 towards equipment for physio Jamie Pitman. They had also given the club £1,100last year.
At year end, July 31st, HUISA had just 48 members but the decision to discount away travel by £2 and to cut the price of belonging to HUISA for concessions to £10 had brought in several new members.
Keeper Dan Connor had been sponsored by HUISA for this season.
The Chairman then gave his report and also answered questions.
He said as last season progressed it had been difficult to meet former chairman Graham Turner but the change of senior directors at the club was like a 'breath of fresh air'.
He was impressed at the way chairman David Keyte had met the supporters at the three fans forums and at the open day recently.
Whilst unable to reveal too much detail, Dodd said that the chairman had made an offer to the Richardsons to settle the debt but this had been turned down. He has since made a second higher offer.
Dodd also revealed that at the friendly against Plymouth several business people from around Hereford had been invited to the game. This initative has brought some £30,000 in sponsorship, advertising etc to the club.
Some problems with supporters booking seats on the coaches to away games and then not turning up were highlighted.
It was thought that HUISA will have to move to a payment on booking basis.
Dodd explained that one of the main ways of raising income for HUISA was by purchasing a 50/50 ticket at games. This allowed them to channel money to the club.
Finally in answer to a question from the floor, Dodd said that HUISA would set up an e-mail address to which members and others could contact the committee.
