Andy Hessenthaler, the Gillingham manager, told the Kent News that despite drawing with Hereford he was happy with the performance. The Gills had eleven squad players unavailable through injury or illness.
"I was absolutely delighted with us, over the 90 minutes we deserved to win the game. In the first half we played the ball really well, I think the pleasing thing for me is we’ve worked on stuff on the training ground this week on set pieces and on another given day we could’ve gone in at half-time 2-0 up.
"I can’t ask any more from the players, you could see from the fans’ reaction at the end how pleased they were with the performance. I was delighted with the boys."
