Lee Hughes put the Magpies ahead twice, only for them to be pegged back each time with goals from Brett Pitman and Jeff Goulding. The Cherries hold second place, with the Magpies moving up to third on goal difference.
Meanwhile, Newport County have returned to the Conference after beating Havant and Waterlooville tonight in front of 4,221 at Spytty Park. Ex-Bull Glyn Thompson started the game, with Martyn Giles on the bench. They have won Conference South with seven games to play, and have lost only once all season.
