Preview: Bulls vs Torquay

The Bulls entertain Torquay on Saturday looking for a second successive home win.

Edgar Street is not a happy hunting ground for the Gulls, with no League wins since April 1983. Since that 1-0 victory they have only lost only four of the subsequent matches with the draw coming out tops on the other ten occasions. Only once in those fifteen games has either side scored three goals, and a 1-1 draw is the common result.

The Bulls will take their threadbare squad into Saturday's match, with youngster Joel Edwards the only fit player not to be in the 18 man squad on Tuesday night. With Richard Rose hoped to be back from injury most will expect Tyler Weir to relinquish his starting spot to the comparable veteran but the praise handed to Weir by boss John Trewick may see Rose needing to work extra hard in training to get back into the starting XI.

For Torquay, a return to the League has become something of a nightmare. Largely sticking with the same side that came up from the Conference by finishing the season strongly they have been forced into considerable changes as they got the same sinking feeling the Bulls had in their first season back, and now sit in 20th place - two points behind the Bulls. Out have gone ex-Bulls pair Tim Sills and Chris Hargreaves back to the Conference, replaced by £20,000 striker Chris Zebroski and much travelled defender Guy Branston, who counts the Gulls as club no. 16 in just over 13 years.
