News Round Up

Notts County have denied that the Midlands consortium bid that fell apart yesterday was the funding that was presented to the court last week. In one of a number of statements issued in the last 24 hours, the club says that the court were given documents relating to another offer although, in another statement, they say they are still seeking new investors. Meanwhile, the club is reported to want four signings when the transfer window reopens even though they appear to be no closer to appointing a new manager.

Chester fans have written to every club in the Conference to apologise as they are 'ashamed' of the way the club is being run. City Fans United are one of half a dozen parties to have expressed an interest in taking control of the club with a local solicitor handling the sale. Lincoln loanee Nathan Baker has been reprimanded by parent club Aston Villa after he sold his five allocated tickets for the Carling Cup final for £200 each. The tickets have been withdrawn and he will not be allowed to attend the match.

Aldershot will retain midfielder Scott Donnelly for the time being after an agreement over a transfer to Wycombe came too late to be registered before the transfer window closed. The Chairboys may resurrect the deal next week as a loan. Barnet have signed released Brighton midfielder David Livermore on a deal until the end of the season. Yeovil midfielder Darren Way has announced his retirement, 13 months after a car crash that confined him to a wheelchair for several months. He will stay with the club as part of Terry Skiverton's backroom team.
