More about Dai Lloyd

Ron Parrott, the Hereford United historian, has kindly given BN a few more details about Dai Lloyd, a former Hereford United player, who has recently died.


DAI LLOYD
Actually christened David, Dai was a right-half and was a team mate of Bill Jarman in the all-conquering Merthyr Tydfil side of the early fifties. He was retained by the Welshmen at the end of the 1954/55 season but couldn’t agree terms and signed for United in September 1955. Dai spent two seasons at Hereford, making 34 appearances and scoring two Southern League goals. He left Edgar Street at the end of 1956/57 and returned to Merthyr Tydfil.

His 34 first-team appearances for the Bulls comprised:
Birmingham Senior Cup - 1,
Southern League - 28,
Southern League Cup - 1,
FA Cup - 2,
Herefordshire Senior Cup - 2
