Ferguson sacked by Peterborough

Darren Ferguson, son of Sir Alex, has been sacked by Peterborough following a run of poor results.

Director of football Barry Fry released the following statement earlier:

"I and the club would like to thank him [Ferguson] for his miraculous achievements with the total support of the chairman in the near three years he has been at the club and we wish him and his family all the best in the future. Nothing surprises me in football."

Ferguson signed Toumani Diagouraga from Hereford United during the early summer.
