The result pushes pre-season relegation candidates Macclesfield up to 14th, while the Robins are two points ahead of the Bulls in 18th place with a worse goal difference. Ex-Bull Jose Veiga was an unused sub for the Silkmen, who scored through Leicester loanee Ricky Sappleton and John Rooney. The Robins' goal was scored by Elvis Hammond, his fifth of the season.
