Little Progress with Blackfriars End

In his latest interview Hereford United chairman Graham Turner has said that there has been little progress with the development of the Blackfriars End of the Edgar Street ground.

"We've put some plans forward that we want to be considered. Problem is the developers, we owe them a million pounds," said Turner.

"So we've got to come up with a scheme that satifies their needs for commercial development.

"At the moment the architects are in discussions, the Richardsons architects and our own, to make sure that what we want is put forward and for it to be able to marry in with what the Richardsons are looking for.

"We will have a financial interest in this commercial development. We've got to take care of that million pounds.

"I'm hoping the architects will come up with a scheme that will provide us with the sort of facilities that we've put forward and at the same time being able to develope commercially around there.

"We've got the old supporters club which we hope will be developed. I don't think it will become a supporters club again. I'm not sure whether there is very much money in that at the moment.

"I hope that all around there and the football facilities and the Blackfriars End will all be developed to everybodys satisfaction.

"I've said I hope it can be done before the end of the season, certainly before the start of next season. Might be optimistic"
