An obviously relieved John Trewick spoke to BBC Hereford and Worcester after this afternoon's 2-0 victory against Accrington Stanley at Edgar Street.
"It's been a long time coming but I thought we deserved it," said the Hereford United manager.
"I thought the three new lads added a spark to the side. Craig King was outstanding.
"A lot of energy, a lot of purpose and I'm just pleased to get the first win on the board.
"I wanted to make an impactt and a statement - bringing the new players in has made a statement.
"There were other things done in the week which would have helped and there could be another player, possibly two, coming in this week.
"It was time for a change and hopefully it will kick-start some better results."
Trewick was very pleased with loanee Craig King who joined the Bulls from Leicester in mid-week.
"I thought he was fantastic. The mobility of the lad. I liked his skill and decision making that he showed everbody.
"A performance beyond the years of an 18 year old.
"If he can keep that quality for us it's quite obvious he had a bright future in football."
