The Bulls entertain Cheltenham on Saturday in their first League Two home match of the season.
Last season's double over the Robins was a welcome distraction to an otherwise dismal season. Those games are, so far, the only ones between the sides in the Football League, while the Bulls were only beaten once in the Conference clashes between the sides. Mark Freeman and Jamie Victory gave the title chasing Robins all three points at cash strapped Edgar Street in February 1999, with the financial boot firmly on the other foot this season.
The Bulls indifferent performance at Morecambe was erased by a quality team performance on Tuesday night. The slick passing movement and lightening wingers need to find more of an end product but a continuation of that level of football will put the Bulls in the frame at the end of the season. Matt Done continues to push for a first start of the season after providing the cross for the final goal for the second sucessive match as a sub.
The Robins' patched up bunch of veterans and youngsters beat unfancied Grimsby on the opening day thanks to 37 year old Barry Hayles. Hayles was one of three on the subs bench over 35, while three more were teenagers. With limited resources outside the starting XI, any number of injuries will damage their chances of promotion with boss Martin Allen admitting that they'll be happy to be solvent at the end of the season.
