Chester Match Pulled Again

Chester's trip to Grays tomorrow has been postponed by the Conference after the FA stepped in to reverse the Conference's earlier decision.

The Conference had given Chester the go ahead after telling them they would start the season with a 25 point deduction as an 'interim' decision, but the FA have refused to ratify the club's membership - leaving them unable to complete tomorrow's fixture. A brief FA statement reads:

The FA intends to review the decision of the Football Conference to allow Chester City’s membership to transfer to a new company subject to certain conditions. It is anticipated that this review will be completed as a matter of priority.

Hosts Grays will now seek compensation for lost revenue from the Conference and FA over the late postponement, coming less than 24 hours before kick-off.
