Bury Offer Johnson Contract

Bury have offered released Bull Simon Johnson a contract for next season.

Knill told the Bury Times: "Simon has got unbelievable ability, enough to play at a higher level than League Two. For one reason or another he has been let go by Hereford and, at 26-years-old, he has to decide sooner or later what direction his career is going to take.

"It's time for him to do something. He has had some knocks in his career, but that happens in football. He has a good CV and we are giving him a chance to have a look at us and decide if he wants to play for this club and myself."

Johnson started his career with a then Premiership Leeds ending the 02/03 season with a series of top flight appearances, but he never established himself and ended up at Darlington for two seasons before a similar spell at Edgar Street. He split opinions on his talent at both the Quakers and Bulls, starting less than half the matches each season for both sides and being used largely as a sub.
