Ben Smith played against Chelsea this afternoon and scored. The former Hereford United midfielder was in the Crawley Town side that entertained an XI from the premier league high-flyers.
Smith's goal was a header just after half-time.
Meanwhile at Forest Green another former Hereford United player, David Brown, scored a goal for the home side in their 3-1 win over Charlton who had another two former Bulls players in their squad, Darren Randolph and Stuart Fleetwood. Marcus Palmer was also on the bench for the Gumpers, who also fielded former Bulls trialist Ryan Burge.
The friendly was part of the deal when Fleetwood moved to Charlton from the New Lawn twelve months ago.
While in other friendly action, Febian Brandy and Sam Hewson turned out for a Man Utd XI as they beat AFC Fylde 3-1. Hewson opened the scoring with a 20 yard drive midway through the second half, while Brandy was a second half sub.
