Former Oldham manager John Sheridan has been named as the new boss at Chesterfield.
He, and assistant Tommy Wright and goalkeeper coach Mark Crossley, has signed a three year deal with the club after leaving Oldham in March after rumours that he had lost the support of the dressing room. Wright and Crossley left Oldham earlier in the close season, shortly after Dave Penney arrived at the club.
Sheridan took Oldham to the play-offs in 06/07, but missed the target in 07/08 and was sacked as their play off challenge faded last season.
