Brown to join Forest Green

Former Hereford United striker David Brown is to join Forest Green Rovers.

The move to the New Lawn is surprising in so much as Brown cited distance from his home near Manchester as a reason for leaving Hereford United.

"We hope to have David on board by Thursday, making him available for the game (against Eastbourne Borough) this weekend," said FGR manager Jimmy Harvey.

"He is someone I've watched for a while."

Meanwhile another ex-Bulls striker Tim Sills has signed a new contract with Torquay. He will remain with the Gulls until the summer of 2010.
