Student Accomodation at Edgar Street?

There's little sign of any progress on the redevelopement of Edgar Street, the home of Hereford United, at present.

It appears that the Richardson/Carillion partnership who lease the ground from the Council are prepared to wait and see what happens with the progress of the Edgar Street Grid plans. In any case finding tenants during a recession might be difficult.

Contrast Hereford United's plight with that of Wrexham.

Yesterday Wrexham submitted fresh plans to develope the Racecourse ground.

Revised proposals to build two blocks of student accomodation, one for 319 and one 521, have been sent to Wrexham council planners for consideration.

The continual income from accomodation would be considerable. Before expenses 840 student rooms could bring in over £2,500,000 per annum.

Should recent plans for a University of Hereford materialise, perhaps student accomodation at Edgar Street is one possibility if all else fails.
