Turner wants closer ties with Referees

In his latest interview with BBC Hereford and Worcester Graham Turner has said he would like to see closer ties with referees.

"We feel that there has got to be a better standard of officiating and closer ties between managers, players and referees," said Turner.

"There is so much uncertainty over handball, particularly in the penalty area - what is deliberate, what is accidental and what is hands in an unnatural position.

"As managers we are baffled by some of the interpretations of rulings, so clarification on that is needed.

"I don't see any reasons why referees shouldn't come into clubs and work in training - referee practice matches and training games.

"All those kind of things bring people closer together in their views and we all realise that it is a tough job, and it's getting harder because of the pace of the game."
