Lewes have been put up for sale with 'tens of thousands of pounds worth of debt'. The club rose quickly from regional football, sacking manager Steve King in the summer, now appointed at Northwich, for his apparent success of moving up four divisions in five years - way ahead of budget. Northwich themselves are meeting with industrial estate rivals Witton over the future of their respective clubs. While a merger is 'not on the agenda' according to the Witton chairman, the two sides managed less than 800 paying spectators between them over the past weekend.
Bournemouth paper the Daily Echo reports that Crewe striker Anthony Elding is a target for the Cherries after just one goal and seven league starts so far this season. Altrincham, one of the few Conference clubs to have a sound business plan, have confirmed that they have secured Man Utd's reserve matches for the rest of the season. Weymouth's chairman has described his position as 'untenable' but had denied supporters claims to have sold the stadium and pocketed the profit.
Former Bulls trialist Richard Langley is now at Bristol Rovers with former boss Lennie Lawrence, who spent £200,000 on him for Cardiff in 2003. Langley started the week at Cheltenham after spending the last four months at a vast array of clubs. Bristol City have reported a £2million loss for last season, mostly due to a £60,000 a week rise in player wages. The club have reinterated their requirement for a new stadium to increase revenue to survive in the Championship.
