FA Chairman Lord Triesman wants more money to be handed by the Premier League to the lower divisions. Only £90million, mostly in parachute payments, goes to the FL from the £2.3billion three year TV deal. Triesman also wants trading in players under 18 banned. Bournemouth have named former Chester director Paul Baker as their new chairman, and have received a six-figure investment from new director Adam Murry.
Carlisle will keep caretaker boss Greg Abbott in the job until January to give him a chance to earn the job permanently. Yeovil have loaned striker Andre McCollin to Grays for a month, and taken Millwall striker Gifton Noel-Williams on similar terms. Ex-Bull Owen Pickard has been named as manager of Western League side Barnstaple Town, his hometown side. The 38 year old has recently been playing for a North Devon side called Boca Seniors.
