News Round Up

Colchester have signed Aston Villa striker Sam Williams on a three month loan that includes FA Cup participation. The 21 year old has previous first team experience at Wrexham and Brighton, scoring three times in eighteen appearances during two loan spells. Ex-Bull Phil Gulliver has joined Southern League side Corby Town following his departure from Rushden.

National press are reporting that Carlisle want Steve Cotterill as their new boss. Brighton have extended the loan of Coventry midfielder Kevin Thornton, but have been refused permission to play him, and ex-Bull Stuart Fleetwood, in the FA Cup. Weymouth's supporters' trust has issued a warning over the club's stadium sale. The £1.3million sale of the ground will ensure a new ground is in place before planning can be sought to demolish their exisiting base, but the club will recieve no further funding from chairman Malcolm Curtis.

Northampton have signed Reading forward Nicholas Bignall on a months loan. The teenager can play either up front or on the wing. Leeds have rejected a bid from Newcastle for Fabien Delph. Bristol Rovers boss Paul Trollope has been fined for being sent off during their win over Leyton Orient.
