The first League One mid-week games of the season take place this evening and one of them is of particular interest to Hereford United supporters.
The Two Fixtures:
Cheltenham v Bristol Rovers
Stockport v Northampton
Although Cheltenham are at the foot of the table, they have a new manager, Martin Allen. That could be the impetus for a better performance from the Robins who were humbled 4-1 at Hartlepool last Friday evening.
Bristol Rovers (19th) are only two points above Cheltenham despite their recent 6-1 mauling of Hereford United. In fact that's the only League game they have won to date this season. Last Saturday they lost 3-1 at home to Walall.
Between them Cheltenham and Rovers have conceded 32 goals so far, so a goal-less draw looks unlikely. By contrast Hereford United have conceded 12 and six of those were against Bristol Rovers.
Should Cheltenham win, Hereford will drop to bottom place in the table. Otherwise, even with a draw, the Robins will stay below the Bulls.
In the other fixture Stockport (12th) should overcome Northampton (21st).
