An article on the PFA website suggests that the Hereford United manager may need more loan signings if the Bulls are to avoid a relegation battle this season.
The alarm bells must have started ringing amongst the Hereford fans when the Bulls lost their first three games of the season, including a 6-1 thumping at Bristol Rovers. But since then experienced manager Graham Turner has steadied the ship with a victory against Crewe and a draw against Swindon.
Turner used the loan market brilliantly last season to help his side win promotion from League Two, with strikers Gary Hooper, Shergill McDonald and Theo Robinson scoring 30 goals between them after being shrewdly borrowed from Championship sides.
However, that trio have now returned to their parent clubs and Turner may need to use the loan market again to help his side find the goals they need to avoid a relegation scrap.
With goals hard to come by in the first few matches of the campaign, Turner has signed unattached former Everton striker Nick Chadwick after the 25-year-old was released by Plymouth at the end of last season.
Chadwick, who had trial spells at Walsall and Cheltenham before arriving at Hereford, began his career at Goodison Park but made only 14 appearances for the Toffees before joining the Pilgrims in February 2005 for a fee of £250,000.
He is famous for scoring Argyle's fastest goal in their history after netting after just 11 seconds in a league game against Crystal Palace in December 2005. Chadwick scored ten times for Plymouth in 70 matches.
