News Round Up

Ex-Bull Nicky Nicolau has rejoined Barnet on non-contract terms. The former Arsenal trainee left the Bees in the summer thinking he could get a better deal elsewhere, but a succession of unsuccessful trials have seen him return to Underhill. Leyton Orient have loaned midfielder Sean Thornton to Shrewsbury for a month. The former Sunderland man has been edged out of manager Martin Scott's plans.

Altrincham's website is reporting 'Clubs at Blue Square Premier level were informed this week they are no longer allowed to bring in players on a non-contract basis outside of the two transfer windows. Instead, if they want to bring in free agents or a non-contract player from a lower division, they must offer the player a contract.'

Bradford are giving free tickets away for next week's home game with Bournemouth to anyone who purchases a ticket for Saturday's game with Exeter. Despite heavily discounting season tickets they got 700 fewer applicants, and lost 1,000 paying customers between their first two home games.

Bournemouth's ex-Chester director Paul Baker has confirmed to a fans forum that Stephen Vaughan offered to sell him Chester in August. Baker rejected the approach having already committed to the Cherries. He also rejected talk of former Cherries bidder Mark Palmer buying Chester and swapping clubs with Baker. Bury are testing a Bluetooth system at Gigg Lane to deliver team sheets and advertising to supporters mobile phones.
