Southend manager Steve Tilson badly needs a win tomorrow as if visitors Hereford United take three points he will have suffered five consecutive defeats.
“We’re at home and it’s a game we’ve got to be looking to win, it’s as simple as that,” Tilson told the Echo.
“We may have lost last weekend at Carlisle but there were positives to come from the game and performance wise it was good.
“We didn’t get too much luck on the day but we want another good display tomorrow and more importantly we want the three points too.”
Meanwhile striker Dougie Freedman who makes his home debut is hopeful of a victory.
“Hereford will come here and make it difficult for us, but I expect us to be prepared and be up for a game that is definitely winnable,” said the Scotsman.
“If we prepare ourselves in the right manner and take recent performances into the game this game then I’m sure the result will go in our favour.”
