News Round Up

Cheltenham have confirmed Martin Allen as their new manager. The 43 year old has signed a three year deal after spending a year on the managerial sidelines. The Robins have also returned winger Jennison Myrie-Williams to Bristol City at the end of his loan, but have taken teammate Scott Murray for a month instead.

Huddersfield fans have voted for boss Stan Ternent to be sacked. 53% of an online poll called for his head, only 7% wanted him to stay. Leyton Orient have signed Jack Jeffrey on loan from West Ham. The 19 year old striker scored once in four games in a similar spell at Cambridge last season. Millwall are to hear this week whether they will have to pay Clyde for former player Tom Brighton. The then 22 year old moved to the New Den without paying Clyde 'training compensation', with Clyde's two year fight for payment due to be decided this week by FIFA.

Grimsby have sacked manager Alan Buckley, leaving ex-Bull Stuart Watkiss in temporary charge at Blundell Park. Buckley started his second spell at the club in November 2006 but failed to win any of his last 13 League matches, last winning at relegation bound Mansfield in March and collection only two points this season.

Brighton boss Micky Adams has accused Yeovil full back Nathan Jones of feigning injury to get Joe Anyinsah sent off. He told Jones, a former Brighton player during Adams' first spell, "I have seen it [the TV footage]. You go down clutching your face - he has not even touched you. I thought you were bigger than that." Crewe boss Steve Holland will speak to striker Anthony Elding over his attitude after a petulant display while being subbed at the weekend.

Leeds defender Alan Sheehan will miss the Bulls' trip to Elland Road after he was sent off at the weekend. The serious foul play charge carries an automatic three match ban, ruling him out of the September 27th clash. Grays owner Mick Woodward has put the club up for sale and appointed Tim O'Shea as his managerial replacement after previously threatening to close the club. O'Shea has been a coach at the club since February when Woodward sacked Justin Edinburgh and decided to do the managers job himself.
