McClenahan moves to Scotland

Former Hereford United defender Trent McClenahan is to join Hamilton Academicals according their official website.

Billy Reid added to his squad on Friday when he signed full back Trent McClenahan. Although he possesses a British passport, Trent was a member of the Australian squad at the Olympic Games in Beijing and joins Accies until the end of this season. McClenahan came through the youth ranks at Upton Park and had loan spells with MK Dons before two years with Hereford. He will not be available for the Hibs match this week.

It is understood that McClenahan has signed a one-year deal with Hamilton in the Scottish Premier League.

According to Australian reports the former Hereford United player is said to be delighted with the move and is looking forward to joining manager Billy Reid's young and progressive side.

He will have the chance to play against two of Scotland's biggest clubs - Celtic and Rangers.

McClenahan, from Chipping Norton in Sydney, played two seasons with the Bulls clocking up 65 appearances for the side.
