Hereford United captain Karl Broadhurst is expected to be in Graham Turner's squad to play Scunthorpe tomorrow afternoon at Edgar Street.
Broadhurst dislocated his shoulder in a pre-season friendly against Wolves on July 16 and it has taken longer than originally expected for him to regain full fitness.
Injuries to Robbie Threlfall, who has returned to Liverpool, Moses Ashikodi, Sam Oji and Andy Williams will mean they all miss out.
Williams's injury could mean a place in the squad for new signing Nick Chadwick.
Meanwhile according to BBC Hereford and Worcester Oji is said to have suffered a cartilage injury during the midweek friendly at Cardiff. He will be out for several weeks.
"It looks quite serious. There's a possibility of fairly serious cartilage or ligament damage," said Turner.
"He's having a scan at the weekend and then we'll know the full extent of the damage."
