Former Bulls loanee Sammy Igoe is on trial at Bournemouth. The 32 year old lives locally and is known to manager Kevin Bond from their time together at Portsmouth. Crewe were held by Bulgarian side FC Maritsa 0-0 in their first game on tour, while they are expected to sell midfielder Gary Roberts to Blackpool after Cardiff denied interest.

Cheltenham won their opening pre-season friendly 3-1, with ex-Bull Michael Husbands involved in the first half. Former Edgar Street trialist Ryan Burge missed the game through injury. Alex Jeannin was not involved in Oxford's 1-0 win over Oxford City as he continues to be frozen out at the Kassam Stadium.

Kidderminster have rejected Walsall's bid for midfielder Russell Penn. The England 'C' international has spent three years at Aggborough since being released by Scunthorpe. Southend have sold striker Charlie Macdonald to Brentford for a fee around £50,000, and signed American goalie Ian Joyce on a one year deal following his release from Watford.
